What's the deal with Fox News? - Theology Forum | Religion ...

Liberal ideology is not left-wing. Conflating liberalism with leftism is disinformation propagated by the ruling class to give the semblance of diversity of thought. MSNBC or Fox News are capitalist enterprises. Mainstream (ruling class) media depicts society through the lens of the bourgeoisie. The dominant ideas of a society are those of the ruling class of that society.

Left-wing ideology is either Marxist or anarchist. Liberal refers to economic liberalism, i.e. free-market ideology. That is why Liberals are rightists. If you listen to what right-wing MSNBC has to say, you will see that it is actually promoting ruling class capitalist ideology. Lawrence O'Donnell, for instance, in one of his shows on MSNBC calls himself a "socialist" but then goes on to use the ruling class definition of "socialism", which is basically "government intervention in the economy". REAL socialists, i.e. leftists strive to deconstruct and demolish ruling class thought, not propagate it. Socialism is not "government intervention in the economy". All capitalist countries/economies depend on government intervention ON BEHALF OF THE RULING CLASS whose interests they serve. O'Donnell type Liberals use the Newsweek "we are all socialists now" rhetoric to suck the blood out of socialism. Real socialism is working class self-administration of society and public ownership of the means of production, not corporate state ownership.
