BREAKING: Milla Jovovich, Paul W.S. Anderson Both Return for 'Resident Evil: Retribution'!
Exclusive breaking news as Bloody Disgusting has learned that Milla Jovovich will be returning once again as "Alice" in Resident Evil: Retribution. We have also exclusively landed the news that Paul W.S. Anderson will direct from his own screenplay. Anderson directed both the first film in the franchise and Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, which arrived in theaters last September. Sienna Guillory had posted on Twitter that she will be returning as "Jill Valentine," although we're being told that she's being recast. Who should replace her? They are also casting "Barry Burton", who was a member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service), and "Leon Scott Kennedy," a U.S. Government agent, and previously an officer for the Raccoon City Police Department." The newly titled pic is gearing up for a shoot this coming October that will take Alice from Toronto, Canada all the way to Tokyo, Japan. Plot details are under lock and key, but Sony Screen Gems is aiming to have it in theaters come September 14, 2012. An October start date could ensure this. Who should the new Jill Valentine be? It's not really breaking news. I mean, we all knew they would come back, right? Oh yeah, and I'm so glad they're going to do Japan again. Hopefully there's a lot more Japan this time around. Hasn't this been known for a while? Or could have at least been guessed... It was common knowledge that they would return-it's their freaking series after all. No idea why BD is acting like this is huge news.
Anyway, I really hope they don't recast Jill. Recasting roles suck ass for everyone involved including us-the audience.
Excited for the film though! These are simply fun popcorn films! Not everything needs to be an Oscar winner. Hopefully it's better than the last one I don't know about you guys. But I wish (for once) that they'd make a scary Resident Evil movie. Milla was on board with this project from the beginning. It's not an RE movie without Milla. And that sucks about Sienna Guillory, she was great as Jill. BD, i am not believing that Sienna isn't playing Jill in this. Sienna has been on board for months!! they better not recast Jill. Sienna is the only Jill. Well, if they continue the ongoing pattern (a la Star Trek in reverse) the next one should be good.

4 was absolutely horrendous so they go to the trouble of bringing back the original Jill Valentine actress for a 20second cameo in the 4th movie only to possibly recast her in the 5th? that makes so much sense. lol oh, and i'm %100 fine with Anderson returning to direct this movie. i'm wondering and hoping it's not true that Leon and Barry are going to replace Claire & Chris. why recast her if you brought her back for the last one, doesnt make sense, doubt you are corrent, your wrong alot anyways Eh firstly Sienna is in this she tweeted that TRAINING has begun and secondly Milla confirmed back in April that she was in this. Well, if they recast Jill, I don't even think I would care. I mean, she didn't even look like Jill at the end of the 4th one. I was like "Who's that? I thought Jill was supposed to be in this?" Then I saw the credits and saw it was her. She looked nothing like what Jill is supposed to look like. Why they didn't keep her like she was in part 2, I will never know. I would like Sienna back, though. There's no reason she shouldn't. As entertaining as some of them have been, after this one they need to end this Alice series (because that's what it is) and reboot it with Jensen Ackles as Leon Kennedy, Zoe Saldana as Sheva, and Maggie Q as Ada Wong. This movie is supposed to be about zombies, and most of all SCARY like the first games. Im with IIIyria, except for the Jensen Ackles part. And I said once before that I thought that Mila was Jill in the RE movie trailer. Red hair and blue eyes. Yeah, that should have been Mila playing Jill Valentine. Illyria, you claim to want the movies to be about zombies, but then request that Sheva be in a movie?? RE5 has no zombies. RE4 and 5 are NOT true Resident Evil games.
I welcome them to reboot the franchise, and make a movie about the mansion incident. i am not sure why BD is reporting a recast of jill cause i dont see it happening. also thunder dragon u must have never played RE 5 casue sienna looks exactly like jill does in RE 5 so try know what your talking about before you post your stupidness As long as these continue making money then the "Alice series" as you calls it, isn't going anywhere. And even if they do end them after this, what makes you think they'll reboot it anytime soon? You can't go flying off of "hope". Don't like the movies? Then don't watch them and leave those of us who enjoy them in peace. It's really not a hard concept. Do not recast sienna!! Idiots When is this series gonna end already? Keep this cast in place for one more and wrap this thing up. The RE movies just aren't good enough to keep going on endlessly. I'll watch this woman fight zombies for as long as I can. The 3D doesn't hurt. It doesn't have to be high entertainment to be fun. Sweet. :) I love these movies. they are nothing like the games. I think of them as stand alones. Kind of like the books. But I am stoked. I hope its a good long one. :) I guess they only had a few more characters to fuck up, Leon and Barry being two of my favorites. So why not? Go hog wild..
