When Mark McKenna asked me if I would come over to Baitcraft a few weeks back I was more than a little excited. The superb T1 boilie is already in its sixth year of doing some serious damage on a whole array of locations both home and away and I suspect it is correct to say has achieved near mythical standing in the world of Carp fishing bait.
On my first meeting with Mark he strongly suggest that I try the Halo, the newest and greatest addition to the Baitcraft range and something he has put a big period of time, research and testing in to recently. If I?m truthful to start with I was a tiny hesitant as I had already made my mind up that I would be using the timeless T1 on my new water but when a person with the experience and understanding that Mark has insists the Halo is the best bait he has released to date I presumed it best to perk up and take notice, and I?m glad I did.
The Halo is based round the same HNV marine protein base mix that is found in all of Baitcrafts incredible range. As with all great bait masters Mark was pretty secretive about the remainder of the ingredients, but who can blame him? He probably did however assure me it was the one to be on and one of the most instant baits would ever use.
Putting these outrageous claims to the test I used the Halo on a day session two days later and instant turned out to be an understatement! I managed eight fish up to 28lb 12oz all before dark and I literally couldn?t put enough in, the carp were on it all day long. My next visit was a short evening session and produced four fish up to 25lb 6oz and the 3rd which was only a four hour session also produced 4 carp up to 28lb 15oz!
Even at this early stage it is obvious to me the Halo is a very special product indeed and is right up there with the mythical T1 boilies. As with all of the other baits in the range the United Kingdom Tactical matching hook bait range is unbeaten offering hardened hook baits, wafters and ultra buoyant pop ups all in either 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 18mm or ?bones ? which are a really unique dumbbell type hook bait, while a matching hook bait dip and pellets complete the range fantastically.
The Halo smells wonderful, unlike any other carp bait I?ve ever used. It?s instant to say the least and if these early results are anything to go by its set to become another Baitcraft all time classic.
