WINDSOR (AFP) ? Prince William beat his younger brother Prince Harry in a charity polo match played Sunday in aid of orphaned children in Lesotho.
The siblings led opposing teams in the Sentebale Polo Cup in pouring rain.
The annual contest was due to take place in Dubai earlier this year but due to the widening unrest in the Middle East at the time it was shifted to Coworth Park, near Windsor, west of London.
The event raises money for Sentebale, which Harry co-founded with Lesotho's Prince Seeiso to help orphans in the landlocked southern African country, which has been ravaged by AIDS.
Harry, 26, played for Sentebale against William, 28, who turned out for a Tusk Trust team, a conservation charity of which he is royal patron.
Sentebale means "forget-me-not" in the Sesotho language and was chosen as a reminder of the victims of poverty and HIV/AIDS in Lesotho.
Earlier, the brothers attended a service of thanksgiving for their grandfather Prince Philip at Saint George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
The service was held to mark the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II's husband, who played polo until he reached 50.
